Mumbai is also known as “City of Dreams” and this is the main reason for its crowding. It has abundant historical sites, cultural institutions and bustling markets along with the places that are rewarding for any visitors. This vibrant city offers some must see Mumbai’s Local Attractions:

1. Gateway of India

The Gateway of India is the well-known among the historic monuments in Mumbai. It is also famous for the commemorating the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to the city. It is also the spot from where the last troops of British departed India after centuries of their rule. It is designed by George Wittet who is a Scottish architecture. This place is influenced by Indo-Islamic, Roam and Indian style of architecture. Its foundation stone was laid in the year 1911 and in 1914, the structure was completed.

2. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

It is the best spot to witness the past and present of Mumbai. It is not only the country’s most famous railway station but also the most iconic landmark. It is very rich in history and features Indian and striking High Victorian Gothic style of architecture. It is also the UNESCO World Heritage Site and comes under the busiest railway station present in our country. This is also an integral part of the daily lives of lakhs of citizens of Mumbai.

3. Haji Ali Dargah

One of the most iconic architectural structures in Mumbai is Haji Ali Dargah. It is also the stunning one which dates to 1431. It is built in the memory of wealthy Muslim merchant, Sayyed Peer Jaji Ali Shah Bukhari who was from Uzbekistan. He gave up all his worldly belongings to make pilgrimage to Mecca. It is situated on an isle off the coast of Worli. It is the Mughal-style pristine white building which connects to the mainland by a narrow pathway that is only visible during low tide.
