The long-rumored Rs. 500 Jio feature phone is in the news once again, as images, specifications, and new features have leaked on the web by the company. The handset is expected to go official on 21st of July, when the Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting will be held. With a 4G VoLTE-enabled Jio feature phone.
Reliance Jio would be able to tap the feature phone market, which has been out of its reach because of the lack of low-end handsets supporting the 4G VoLTE network in India. Among the notable features of the handset are the custom Operating System, and support for Internet tethering.

According to the report, the Jio feature phone will be sold under the Lyf brand, the company already sells smartphones under the Lyf name. As rumored , the feature phone is said to have a 2.4-inch color display, with the RAM of 512MB, 4GB of internal onboard storage, up to 128GB micro SD card support, dual SIM functionality with support for the Nano SIM + Standard SIM, 2-megapixel primary rear camera, and VGA front camera. There is also a battery capacity of 2000mAh which is a removable one, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.1 + LE, and with support for video calling feature.
On the software side, the Jio feature phone is said to come with 'KAI OS', a customized version of the HTML5-based Firefox operating system. It will reportedly have an app store named 'KaiOS Plus'. It will also have an integrated voice assistant with support for almost all the Indian languages.
Other Connectivity options
The smartphone is also going to have a many great connectivity option such as GPS, FM/ Radio, internet connectivity, Bluetooth version 4.2. The company is also touted that the phone is going to support an option for quick charging support. The phone is going to come with the free reliance Jio offer for 12 months of free SMS, calls and internet.
